Locust Grove Village Welcomes New Board Member

Locust Grove Village is excited to announce the addition of Amy Depperschmidt to their Board of Directors.

For the past 19 years, Depperschmidt has worked for The University of Kansas Health System -HaysMed as an IV certified licensed practical nurse and a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. She also works as needed in the Intermediate Swing Bed facility at Rush County Memorial Hospital. In addition, she is a current member of the American Nurses Association and American Society of Echocardiography. 

In joining the Board of Directors at Locust Grove Village, Depperschmidt states, “ I am excited to be given the opportunity to serve. I have always had a passion for the aging community when I had first started (many years ago) as a CNA for the former Rush County Nursing Home. I believe that the quality of care and quality of life need to be paid close attention to. I look forward to helping the organization be of service to our community.”

Amy Depperschmidt joins the current Board members including Kevin Moeder, Chairman; Ruth Baalmann, Secretary; Dr. Leo Herrman and Tonya Basgall. The Board provides governance for the organization, sets the business plan, budget, strategic plans for the Village and employ the administration. The volunteer Board meets monthly. The Administrator is Charlotte Rathke, now in her 17th years of service at Locust Grove Village.

Locust Grove Village is a 501©3 organization, providing elder care services across the continuum of care. The campus includes a 38 bed skilled nursing facility, 14 assisted living and 16 independent retirement apartments.
