Spring Conference

Members of Locust Grove Village staff recently attended the Leading Age Kansas Spring Conference and Expo in Wichita, KS. Maddison Waggoner, Life Enhancement Coordinator; Amy Suppes, RN Director of Nursing and Charlotte Rathke, Administrator attended the two day event. Amy Suppes, RN was a featured presenter during the breakout session, “Reducing Antipsychotics”. Ms. Suppes, along with other select directors of nursing, shared the efforts and interventions initiated to substantially reduce the use of these medications that are shown to have high risk outcomes for elders. A large audience attended the session and Ms. Suppes and the entire panel fielded numerous questions during the session. Other presentation topics Locust Grove Village staff attended focused on workforce culture, new survey expectations, food service for dementia needs, and compassion fatigue to name a few.

LeadingAge Kansas is an association of nearly 160 not-for-profit aging services providers dedicated to serving the needs of aging Kansans. The association works to advance policies, promote practices and learning that empowers members to help seniors live fully as they age. Members serve over 25,000 seniors in Kansas each day.

Locust Grove Village is a continuing care retirement community in La Crosse, KS.
