Staff Attend Conferences

The Spring Conference and Expo of the Leading Age Kansas organization was held in Wichita, KS in May.  Locust Grove Village is an active member of the not for profit association.  Staff members attending the conference included Amy Suppes, Director of Nursing; Charlotte Rathke, Administrator and Margaret Plante, HR Manager/Assistant Administrator.  The attendees participated in various educational tracks – regulatory, futurist, and clinical care/behavioral health.

Keynote speakers spoke about Tomorrow’s Senior Living Opportunity and Managing the Stress of Change.

The conference also included the annual Business meeting of the association, the KING (worker’s compensation) Annual meeting and the Employee Benefit Inc Member meeting.

Amy Suppes, Director of Nursing attended the Workforce and Leadership Conference held in Newton on July 11-12.  A variety of workforce initiatives were highlighted for those in attendance.

A new program of payment for Medicare certified nursing homes takes effect in October of 2019.  To prepare for this monumental change in business, members of Locust Grove Village have been participating with ongoing trainings held by BKD,

Inc Accounting firm and Leading Age Kansas.  The Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) is set to launch by CMS this fall.  Staff attended a recent roundtable in Salina to continue LGV preparations for this new program.
